Exciting Activities in Guilin for Students

Institute of Tea Research

Experience Chinese tea culture in the institute of Tea Researching. Locates by the foot of the Mt. Yao where about 15 minutes drive from the city center, the Guilin Institute of Tea Research is a government own tea plantation and institute of tea planting, tea technology and tea products. A visit to this institute will start from learning how to pick up tea leaves, the process of making different kind of tea products, learn and experience the Chinese tea culture via join a tea ceremony. After the visit to this institute, students will not only have fun in some fun activities but also learn and experience the Chinese tea culture.

Biking

Biking is one of the best way to see the beautiful countryside of around Yangshuo. During the biking trip, students will get a chance to be very close to the Chinese countryside and the farmer’s life.You will see a very tranquil and beautiful countryside, you will also get a chance to visit some villages and the local farmer’s house, to see the real Chinese countryside and the life style of the farmers.

Caving

Caving in Yangshuo, you will not only enjoy the mysterious atmosphere in exploring the cave, but also can have fun with your friend in a mud pond. The typical Karst formation in Yangshuo also has many caves. Caving is a very popular activity in Yangshuo. Many cave in yangshuo are quite special and is able to offer people different experience.

Kayaking

In a kayaking trip, you will paddle a kayak to float downstream the river, enjoy the beautiful hills and bamboo along the river, seeing water buffalo having fun in the water, lesson to the sound of wind and water. From Yangshuo, the beautiful lower reaches of Li River is famed as a “diamond waterway”. Because there are few boats will get to this area, the lower reaches of the Li River is always very quiet and primitive, makes it a perfect place for kayaking. A kayaking tour will start from an old town which is called Fuli, and end in Liugong village.

Rock Climbing,traverse & abseiling

The highlights of rock climbing are enjoy the beautiful scenery on the high cliff and the excitement of challenging yourself. Yangshuo is a paradise of rock climbing. Many lime stone hill has a perfect vertical cliffs so that is perfect for rock climbing. There are many different routes for climbers in different levels, no worries of too difficult to do it.

Farming experience and cooking class

Get to know the life in the village and how to farm work by join the farming experience activity. After some farm work in the fields, learn how to cook Chinese food in the cooking school, explore the local cuisine and have fun in the cooking class.

Sample Itinerary About Guilin Students Group Tours

Day 1

Transfer via: international flight or internal flight on your own arrangement
Upon your arrival in Guilin, the most scenic city in China, your personal guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to relax, or step out into this lovely city for a little adventure on your own.

Day 2

In the morning, you will visit the Guilin Institute of Tea Research which is a government-owned tea plantation and institute of tea planting, tea technology and tea products, there a small competition to pick up tea leaves will be arranged, the process to make tea products and a tea ceremony for you to understand the Chinese tea culture will be shown. While in the afternoon, you will visit Reed Flute Cave.

Day 3

In the morning, Our coach/van will take you to the Yangdi Pier (about one-hour drive) where you start trekking. Trekking distance: 20km,it will take 5 to 6 hours

Day 4

Get up early in the morning, a Taichi Lesson is arranged for you in the Yangshuo Park. After breakfast, we’d like to take you to a cooking school to learn Chinese way of cooking and cuisine and the food you cook will be your lunch.
In the afternoon, you will have a lesson to learn Chinese painting or Chinese calligraphy.

Day 5

In the morning, experience an interesting and enjoyable cycling tour along Jima Road through the countryside, along the way you will not only enjoy the pastoral views with picturesque limestone mountains on both sides, but also ride on the countryside path partly along clear Yulong River and have chance to swim in Yulong River for one hour.
In the afternoon, a school visit and exchange with local students will be arranged.

Day 6

In the morning, you will be driven to Fuli Old Town where you will start your Kayaking journey on the Li River to Liugong Village, you will paddle a kayak to float downstream the quite river, along the way, you will enjoy the beautiful hills and bamboo, see water buffalo having fun in the water and listen to the sound of wind and water. Pay a visit to Liugong Village where you will find a lot of nice old Ming & Qing style houses and meet very friendly local villages. Later, you will be transferred back to Yagnshuo by boat or bus.
After lunch, let’s go caving to relax in the cool and natural Moon Cave in the hot summer afternoon.

Day 7

Transfer via: international flight or internal flight on your own arrangement
Free in the day until your transfer to Guilin airport (2-hour drive) for your flight to your next destination.
