Brief Introduction:
China and Egypt are two countries renowned for their glorious ancient cultures. This tour combines the best of these two amazing countries. Visit Egypt’s must-see sites including the pyramids and sphinx, Egypt’s ancient capital city of Memphis, and Coptic Cairo including churches, and one of the most stunning mosques in the world. In China you will visit the magnificent Forbidden City, the Great Wall, the unforgettable terracotta warriors, and the picturesque city of Guilin, and the cosmopolitan metropolis of Shanghai. This tour was designed to showcase the most unforgettable archaeological and natural spots on earth.
Trip Highlights:








Day 01: Arrival/Cairo (D)
Special Dinner: Nile Dinner Cruise
Upon arriving at the Cairo International Airport, your guide will meet you and escort you by private car to your hotel to relax until the evening, when your driver will take you to the dock for your Nile Dinner Cruise. You will cruise down the Nile River on a large ship watching the city of Cairo pass by while enjoying a fantastic dinner buffet. After dinner you will be thrilled with a folklore performance followed by belly dancing. After the performances, feel free to go to the upper decks to enjoy the fresh night air and the beautiful city lights. After your cruise your driver will pick you up and take you back to your hotel.
Day 02: Cairo/Memphis/Sakkara (B, L)
After breakfast you will be driven to visit one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient world, the Great Pyramids and the Sphinx. You will then be driven to the Sakkara Necropolis home of the famous Step Pyramid, the oldest Egyptian pyramid. After visiting the necropolis, you will be driven to Memphis, the capital of Egypt during the Old Kingdom. You will visit the giant Statue of Ramses II and the 80 ton Alabaster Sphinx. After your day’s adventures you will be driven back to your hotel.
Day 03: Cairo/Beijing (B, L)
In the morning your guide will meet you and help you check out of your hotel. You will then begin your tour of Islamic and Coptic Cairo. Your first stop with be the 12th century Citadel Fortress, home to the impressive Alabaster Mosque of Mohammed Ali, whose minaret can be seen from any part of the city. You will then visit the Hanging Church dedicated to the Virgin Mary. The Greek Church of St. George will be your next stop, followed by a visit to the Church of St. Sergius which is said to have been built over the crypt that sheltered the holy family during their flight from Egypt. You will then visit the St. Barbara’s Church, which houses the remains of St. John. After your tour of Islamic and Coptic Cairo, your guide will escort you to the airport for your flight to China.
Day 04 Beijing
Upon arriving at the Beijing airport, your local guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to relax, or explore China’s capital on your own.
Day 05 Beijing (B, L)
In the morning you will visit Beijing’s magnificent Forbidden City, which is the largest palace structure in the world and the place where China’s emperors ruled for over 500 years. In the afternoon, you will marvel at Beijing's splendid Temple of Heaven, where China’s emperors annually went to pray to heaven and for good harvests.
Day 06 Beijing/Great Wall (Badaling Section)/Beijing (B, L, D)
Special Dinner: Peking Roast Duck
On this day you will visit one of the most amazing architectural feats in the world, the majestic Great Wall (Badaling section). After your visit to the Great Wall you will be taken to the Sacred Road, which is a path lined with stone statues of animals, mystical beasts and officials who will serve the emperors of the Ming Dynasty in the afterlife. For dinner you will enjoy one of China’s most famous dishes, Peking Roast Duck.
Day 07 Beijing/Xian (B, L)
After breakfast, you will visit the exquisite Summer Palace, the summer getaway of the Emperor. It is the largest and most stunning classical garden in China. You will then be driven to the airport for your flight to Xian. Upon arriving in Xian, your local guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to relax, or step out to discover what this amazing city has to offer.
Day 08 Xian (B, L, D)
Special Dinner: Dumpling Banquet
Unique Cultural Performance: Tang Dynasty Show
On this day, you will visit the incredible Terracotta Warriors, which have been guarding China’s first emperor for over 2,000 years. After lunch, you will cycle around the top of Xian's ancient City Walls, the best preserved ancient city walls in the world, which will offer fantastic views of this ancient city. Complete the day with a savory Dumpling Banquet and the Tang Dynasty show both located at Shaanxi Grand Opera Theatre.
Day 09 Xian/Shanghai (B, L)
After breakfast, you will visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, a temple which houses sutras brought back from India, and the Hanyang Tombs, imperial tomb of the Han Dynasty, called an “underground treasure house of cultural relics. In the afternoon you will be escorted to the airport for your flight to Shanghai.
Day 10 Shanghai (B, L)
Unique Cultural Performance: Acrobatic Show
Today, your tour in incredible Shanghai will include a visit to the Shanghai Museum, arguably the best museum in China, followed by a stroll down the famous Bund and Nanjing Road, the number one shopping street in China. In the afternoon you will visit the magnificent Yu Garden and Yuyuan Market. In the evening you will be stunning by the artistry of Shanghai’s Acrobatic Show.
Day 11 Shanghai/Guilin (B, L)
In the morning you will be taken to visit the newly opened Shanghai World Financial Center which offers stunning views of the city of Shanghai, the Huangpu River and the Bund. Your guide will then escort you to the airport for your flight to Guilin. Upon arriving in Guilin, your guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to relax, or explore Guilin on your own.
Day 12 Guilin/Yangshuo (B, L)
After having breakfast at the hotel, you will be driven to Zhujiang Pier (about 40-minute drive) to start a boat cruise along the famed Li River which is a must see for any traveler to Guilin. The cruise will take you to Yangshuo County. Along the river, you will be inspired by breathtaking views of Guilin’s famous Karst mountain peaks and pinnacles, crystal-clear water and serene pastoral views of rice paddies and water buffaloes cooling themselves in the river. It will feel as though you have stepped into a traditional Chinese painting. A Chinese lunch which is cooked on board will be served. After checking in to your hotel in Yangshuo, you will explore the spectacular karst countryside along Jima road by your choice of either bicycle or small electric tour bus.
Day 13 Guilin/Departure (B, L)
In the morning you will be driven back to Guilin. You will then explore the amazing and ancient city of Guilin. You will visit the city’s symbol, Elephant Trunk Hill, and Reed Flute Cave, known as a “Natural Palace of Art” for its bizarre stalagmites, and stalactites. You will then be escorted to the airport for your flight to your next destination.
