Day 01: Arrival in Beijing
Upon arrival at Beijing, the capital of China, your personal guide will meet you at the airport and escort you to your hotel. You will be free in the rest of day.
Day 02: Beijing (B, L)
Historic Beijing has long been China's political and cultural center. On this day we will escort you to explore some of Beijing's greatest sights. Your first stop will be to Tiananmen Square, where in 1949, Chairman Mao declared the founding of People's Republic of China before 3 million onlookers. Next, stroll through the magnificent Forbidden City, the largest integral imperial palace in the world with a history of over 600 years. In the afternoon, you will marvel at another of Beijing's landmarks - the splendid Temple of Heaven built in 15th century.
Day 03: Beijing (B, L)
A full-day excursion will take you to the majestic Badaling Great Wall, which was built over 2,000 years ago and stretches over 6,400 kilometers. You will have plenty of time to linger at this world wonder and contemplate how ancient Chinese people built the wall by using only manpower and rudimentary tools. Before returning to the city, you will visit the famous Sacred Road.
Day 04: Beijing (B, L)
You will visit the exquisite Summer Palace, the most splendid imperial garden in China and the narrow alleys and courtyard homes of Beijing's Hutong by rickshaw. Have a good rest for the next day’s Lhasa trip.
Day 05: Beijing - Lhasa (B, L)
Take a morning flight to Lhasa, nicknamed the "Sunlight City" with an elevation of 3650 meters (12,000 feet) above the sea level. Upon arrival at Gonggar airport, you will be met by your local guide and transferred to your hotel in Lhasa city. After checking in your hotel, rest a while to help you acclimatize the high altitude.
Day 06: Lhasa (B, L)
This will be a day of extraordinary experiences. You will get to experience more of the unique atmosphere of this holy land. Your visits today will include the Lhasa's cardinal landmark, the Potala Palace, the former winter residence of Dalai Lamas, and next we will bring you to the Norbulingka Park built in 1751 AD as a summer palace for the Dalai Lama.
Day 07: Lhasa (B, L)
On this day you will have another chance to absorb the unique atmosphere of Tibet. Pay a visit to the revered 7th century Jokhang Temple. Later, you will have chance to walk around the flourishing Barkhor Street, where you can enjoy bargaining with the local Tibetan vendors for the handicrafts. Then move on to visit the Drepung Monastery, the largest monastery of Gelug Sect in Tibet. You will then visit the Sera Monastery that houses three colleges built in the 15th and 16th centuries, and is famous for its "Buddhism Sutra Debates".
Day 08: Lhasa - Xian (B, L)
Have a family visit before you fly to Xian. You will be met and transferred to the hotel. Visit the City Wall built during the 14th century on Tang dynasty foundations, date to the Ming Dynasty, the walls are the largest and best-preserved ancient fortress in the world.
Day 09: Xian (B, L, D)
You will visit the incredible life-size Terracotta Warriors in the morning. After lunch, you will visit the symbol of the city, the Big Wild Goose Pagoda that was built in 652 A.D in Tang Dynasty to house the sutras brought back from India by the famous monk Xuan-zang and the Bell Tower. Along the Bell Tower Square, you can go to the Hui Minority’s Street to taste the genuine local snacks. Your exciting day will conclude with a savory Dumpling Dinner and the colorful Tang Dynasty Show.
Day 10: Xian - Chongqing (B, L)
On the way to the airport, visit the Hanyangling Museum, the first underground museum in China. Fly to Chongqing. You will be escorted to board President No.1 Cruise Ship to begin your Yangtze River.cruise tour. The cruise will depart Chongqing at 22:00.
Day 11: Fengdu Ghost City or Shibaozhai (B, L, D)
"Shore excursion to Fengdu Ghost City or Shibaozhai this morning. The ship company will choose one spot as your shore excursion destination according to the weather situation and other conditions.
Day 12: Shennong Stream (B, L, D)
Shore excursion to Shennong Stream this morning. Shennong Stream is a small tributary of the Yangtze with 60 kilometers long, famous for its picturesque sceneries. When you take a sampan drifting along it which is not without risk yet exhilarating and a challenge to battle with the nature, you will be attracted and surprised by its crystal clear steam flowing swiftly from north to south through deep gorges,steep ridges and peaks, thick vegetation and wild flowers, flying birds, plank road built along a cliff and ancient hanging coffins, the Minority people and their sweet love songs.
Day 13: Three Gorges Dam - Yichang - Shanghai (B, L)
Have a tour to Three Gorges Dam site, the largest hydroelectric dam in the world. After lunch, disembark the ship in Yichang at 13:00. Later you will be escorted to the airport for your flight to cosmopolitan Shanghai, one of the greatest seaports in the world.
Day 14: Shanghai (B, L)
On this day, you will visit People Square, the center of culture and beautification of Shanghai city. Shanghai Museum has a rich collection of over 120,000 pieces of bronzes, paintings, etc.. After that, move on to the Jade Buddha Temple, a spiritual oasis of metropolitan residents. Visit the Yuyuan Garden and taste the Shanghai people’s local life at the Yuyuan Market. Later you will visit the Shanghai World Financial Center where you will take the elevator to its 100th floor to enjoy the bird's eye view of Shanghai.
Day 15: Departure from Shanghai (B)
Take a stroll on museum of buildings, the Bund and touch the updated fashion on Nanjing Road before you are escorted to the airport/railway station to your next destination.
