Day 1: Arrival / Guilin
Upon your arrival in Guilin, the most scenic city in China, your personal guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to relax, or step out into this lovely city for a little adventure on your own.
Day 2: Guilin / Yangshuo (B/L)
After breakfast, you will be driven to Zhujiang Pier (40-minute drive) to start your boat cruise down the picturesque Li River, which is the highlight of any visit to Guilin, until you get to Yangshuo County. Along the river, you will be inspired by breathtaking views of peaks and pinnacles, crystal-clear water and picturesque pastoral views of rice paddies and water buffaloes. Visitors feel they have stepped into a traditional Chinese painting. After checking into your hotel, you will be free to explore Yangshuo and its famous West Street.
- Yangshuo County: founded in 590 AD, Yangshuo County has been booming because of tourism. With so many beautiful mountains surrounding, it is described as "the world of green lotus and jade bamboo shoots".
- West Street: a busy and exotic stone paved street in Yangshuo County, about 2km long crammed with shops, pubs, and cafés, where visitors can relax and do some souvenir shopping.
Day 3: Yangshuo (B/L)
Get up early in the morning, a Taichi Lesson is arranged for you in the Yangshuo Park. After breakfast, we'd like to take you to a cooking school to learn Chinese way of cooking and cuisine and the food you cook will be your lunch.
In the afternoon, you will have a lesson to learn Chinese painting or Chinese calligraphy.
Today's culture focus No. 1: Tai Chi
The term Taichi ("great ultimate") signifies the origin and ground of Heaven and Earth and of all beings. It is the Great Ultimate that is said to engender or produce yin and yang, the twin cosmic forces, which in turn give rise to the symbols, patterns, and ideas that are, indeed, forms of yin and yang.
Today's culture focus No. 2: Chinese Cuisine Class
Chinese culinary arts are famous all over the world. Chinese dishes appeal to the senses through color, shape, aroma and taste. On this day, we will bring you to learn how to cook Chinese food in a very traditional farmer's house. The class will start from buying food & ingredients from local market. The cooking lesson offers you one of the best ways to experience the local life and the cuisine will be handed on so that you will able to cook after you return home.
Today's culture focus No. 3: Chinese traditional painting or Chinese calligraphy
- Calligraphy is understood in china as the art of writing a good hand with the brush or the study of the rules and techniques of this art. It is peculiar to china and a few countries have been influenced by this ancient Chinese culture.
- Traditional Chinese painting --- an important part of the country's cultural heritage, the traditional Chinese painting is distinguished from Western art in that it is executed on rice paper (or silk) with the Chinese brush, Chinese ink, and mineral and vegetable pigments.
Day 4: Yangshuo / Guilin / Departure (B/L)
Today, you will be driven back to Guilin (1.5-hour drive), where you will tour Elephant Trunk Hill and the Reed Flute Cave before your guide escorts you to the airport for your flight to your next destination.
- Elephant Trunk Hill: the symbol of Guilin, a karst rock formation, resembling a giant elephant drinking water from the Li River.
- Reed Flute Cave: 5 kilometers away from the city center, famed as "A Natural Palace of Art". The cave is filled with stalactites & stalagmites in a myriad of bizarre shapes. It is a showcase of nature's splendor.
