Guilin Climate
The weather in this region is normally under the control of the tropical monsoon, which is considered to be of season distinct, pleasant temperature, and abundant rainfall. But actually the weather could be harsh sometimes because it is very hot in summer time and windy in winter. The spring time is not that distinguished because the weather could change from winter to summer in a short period of time, say 2 weeks. Spring used to be warm but humid and lot of rainfall. Summer is long and very hot. The hottest month is in August, with plenty of rainfalls and sunshine (don't forget the sun protection). Autumn is dry and cool. Sometimes it could be hot during the day but will cool down in the evening. Winter is windy and cold, but it is tolerable because of rare snow.
Generally speaking, the best season to visit Guilin is April, May, September and October as the temperature is not too hot and not too cold. But if you would like to avoid the peak season, winter could be a good season to travel.
